Minors may visit the Site anonymously but need to register in order to retrieve assignments submitted by the Minor’s teacher, play online games, and to participate in the site’s online Student’s Forum. In order for a Minor to register he or she must provide certain limited personal information, including the Minor's first name, website user name and password, and the parent’s email address. This information is used by Yamahaadvantage.com to indirectly contact the Minor using the parent’s email address to answer the Minor’s inquiry or to remind the Minor of his or her password upon request. Each registrant will access the Student portions of the Site using a user name and a password. BECAUSE WE MAY COLLECT MINOR'S PERSONAL INFORMATION THROUGH OUR SITE, WE REQUIRE THAT EACH MINOR'S PARENT PROVIDE CONSENT (AS EXPLAINED BELOW) BEFORE THE MINOR IS PERMITTED TO REGISTER ON OUR SITE. Unless otherwise disclosed during collection, we do not provide any personally identifying information, regardless of its source, to any third party for any purpose whatsoever from our users under 18 years of age. When a Minor begins the registration process on our Site, we collect only the Minor's first name, and the email address of the Minor's parent or guardian. Our system treats all student registrations as if the student is under the age of 18. We send the identified parent or guardian an e-mail alerting them that their child wishes to register with the website. The email to the parent also contains a link to this Privacy Policy. In order for the registration to become complete and for the potential user to receive any information from us, the parent or guardian must validate the registration, as described in the e-mail, and consent to the Minor's registration. After we receive the parent or guardian consent to the registration, we will send a reply confirming that the Minor may complete the registration process by returning to the site’s registration page and filling in their user name and password. At that point the Minor may use the Site. The parent or guardian may refuse to allow the Minor to register. If the parent does not respond to the email within 7 calendar days or if the parent responds refusing to allow the registration then the information submitted by the Minor is automatically deleted from our system. In addition to the initial registration information provided by the Minor we use cookies, as described in this Policy, which can be associated with the user's personal information. No information collected from users under 18 years of age is used for any marketing or promotional purposes whatsoever, either inside or outside Yamahaadvantage except as explicitly stated during registration or in this Privacy Policy. A parent or guardian of a Minor may at any time review the child's personal information, request that we change the information, request that we collect no further information, or delete the child's registration by contacting us via email or by writing us at the address above. If a Minor who is not registered on our Site contacts us through an email, we will respond to that email on a one-time basis without obtaining parental consent and we will then delete the email address. We will not use that email address to contact the Minor thereafter. WHAT IS DONE WITH PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION COLLECTED BY YAMAHA FROM ADULTS We use the information you provide to deliver quality products and services to you. For example, if you have ordered an item or requested a newsletter or updates about our services or products, we will use the information you provide to respond to that request or to provide other information about Yamaha and its services.
